Yavontka Boose-Martin

Yavontka Boose-Martin is a Senior Attorney with Chesser & Barr. She is admitted to practice in Florida and Virginia. Dedicated to the service of her country and her community, she has decades of experience working with government contracts and agreements, fiscal law, FOIA, Privacy Act, Ethics/Standards of Conduct, real property and environmental law. Ms. Boose-Martin was an active-duty officer in the U.S. Air Force from 2000-2012 and transitioned to civilian federal service in 2014. Her service in the Air Force JAG Corps included:

• Chief of Acquisition Law, Eglin AFB FL, advised on all phases of federal contracts for weapons, research-development-testing-engineering, construction, and other related services/items.
• Deputy General Counsel, Moody AFB GA.
• Assistant General Counsel & Defense Services Leader: Provided legal advice and leadership across several federal installations and joint task organizations. Managed portfolios spanning contracts and procurement law, environmental compliance, criminal law, employment and disciplinary actions, client legal services. Led defense services operations.

Ms. Boose-Martin is dedicated to providing excellent legal services to her clients. Bringing her vast legal experience from a wide variety of practice areas to the table, she represents both individuals and businesses. Her vast experience with all aspects of business law and government contracting is particularly helpful to individuals and small businesses, as well as large corporations. She has a particular passion for assisting new entrepreneurs/small start-ups as they begin their business development. In furtherance of service to her clients, Ms. Boose-Martin is pursuing an Executive MBA degree at Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College.

Ms. Boose-Martin earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Marymount University and her Juris Doctorate Degree from Columbus School of Law, The Catholic University of America. Her spirit of service continues beyond her military career -deeply committed to giving back to her community, she is active in several civic organizations.
