COVID-19 Update for Filing Evictions for Nonpayment of Rent on Residential Properties

Governor DeSantis issued an Executive Order Number 20-121 on May 14, 2020 extending his previous Executive Order Number 20-94 due to expire May 17, 2020 to June 2, 2020. This means all evictions for nonpayment of rent cannot be filed until after June 2, 2020 as well as all 3 Day Notices for Nonpayment of Rent. Once June 2, 2020 passes, then evictions for nonpayment of rent for those properties that are mortgage free or do not have enterprise back mortgage can be filed barring an additional extension by the Governor.
