A native of Florida, Colleen Coffield Sachs received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi, Oxford in 1983. She graduated from University of Mississippi School of Law in 1988. In March 2006, Ms. Sachs joined Chesser & Barr, P.A.
Ms. Sachs' practice emphasizes Real Property and Business Law.
Ms. Sachs has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1992. She is actively involved in Bar leadership, serving on the Continuing Legal Education Committee from 1993 to 2003 and 2005 to present, and serving as Chair for 2007-2008.
She is also a member of the Executive Council of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar, and serves a First Circuit Representative and on the Condominium and Planned Unit Development Committee. Ms. Sachs is a frequent speaker on Real Property issues, and was a lecturer on the topic "The Fractional Plan of Development" at the University of Miami 32nd Institute on Condominium and Cluster Developments.
Ms. Sachs is also a member of the Environmental and Land Use Law and the Business Law Sections of the Florida Bar, and served on the Professionalism Committee from 2003 to 2005.
She has been a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association since 1988, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
In addition to her law career, Ms. Sachs is very active in civic & charitable activities including: the Rotary Club of South Walton (Past President), Caring and Sharing of South Walton (Board of Directors), Christ the King Episcopal Church (Clerk of the Vestry), and she is a columnist for the Northwest Florida Daily News. |
